Mavinakayi Chitranna Recipe
This tasty, sweet, fresh dish is difficult to reproduce due to the lack of sweet juicy Thai mangoes. 🙂 But we will try.
Many will think that sweet rice has become so due to cooking in coconut milk with added sugar, but it is not so! In fact, this is a special variety of rice that grows in Asia. Although coconut milk it is often watered, but only for added taste.
You can use best quality rice for this purpose. Boil it until tender, adding some sugar.
Fresh mango wash, clean, cut into cubes.
It remains only to serve the finished dish! Put cold rice in a plate, sprinkle with coconut milk and spread the mango.
This dish “Sweet rice with mango” is ready !!!

Mavinakayi Chitranna Recipe
Ingredients
- 200 g uncooked Thai rice
- 20 cl of coconut milk to be completed with a little water
- Salt
- 1 onion in small pieces
- 1 tablespoon of red curry paste or more according to your tolerance to spicy cooking
- 1 ripe mango diced
- 1 handful of freshly chopped coriander
Instructions
- Rinse the rice once and then put it in the rice field (rice cooker), add the coconut milk and a little water, salt. Let the rice field do the work for you.
- In a wok , fry the chopped onion , add the red curry paste and stir until it begins to dissolve.
- Throw the coconut milk rice into the wok and mix well so that it takes a nice color thanks to the red curry paste.
- Leave to cook while stirring for ten minutes then 1 min before extinguishing the fire add the chopped coriander and the diced mango.
- You can add slices of chicken and shrimp to make a complete dish and not vegetarian.
